Saints in the Spotlight: Caelan Aaron Gunalan (26S21)

Discover how student Caelan Aaron Gunalan earned an SPF Certificate of Appreciation for stepping in to protect a toddler from danger.

The College is proud to announce that Caelan Aaron Gunalan (26S21) has been formally recognised by the Singapore Police Force (SPF) for his quick thinking and public-spiritedness.

On 31 January 2026, Caelan observed a toddler wandering unattended toward an open carpark at an HDB void deck. Sensing the immediate risk from oncoming traffic, he acted decisively to bring the child to safety. He further assisted the Neighbourhood Police Center by providing essential information that facilitated a reunion between the child and his family.

For his selfless actions, Caelan was presented with a Certificate of Appreciation at the Jurong West Neighbourhood Police Centre, marking his significant contribution to community safety.

Caelan’s actions demonstrate what it means to be a community builder, and what it means to be a leader who dares to act. We celebrate his alertness and the exemplary character he displayed in a tense situation. Well done, Caelan, we are proud of you!
